That OLD same thing
This is a solid show and it deserves a good listen by anybody who loves the band's music.
and Yes, i do believe Donna Jean is audible toward the very end of OMSN
I actually found the other One to be pretty bad assed
It seemed like they were itching for it right out of Truckin'
Same Thing- Can't help but see this tune as a hybrid of Spoonful.
It seems a tad laborious for PigPen and this would have been the weakest tune of his repertoire if he had brought it along to Europe.
In delivery the tune almost has a 'The Stranger'
feel to it at least as far as the vocal range Pigpen brings to the table.
I see how Weir would gravitate to Spoonful and then Same Thing when he got the blues fever in later years.
Also must say that Jerry's lead vocals during the second verse of Big River are shocking.
I guess i am so used to it being a strictly Bob tune vocally.
